On November 28th we participated in the inauguration of the “Cucine di Curno”, the new food court that constitutes the expansion of the “Curno” Shopping Center, by Eurocommercial Properties N.V.

The entire project develops in a large oval square designed by the international firm “One Works”, according to the latest trends in commercial spaces dedicated to Food & Beverage, with 17 restaurants and 600 seats. A smart area, built with natural materials, of medium size, linear and connected to the existing gallery of the shopping centre.

Aakhon participated in the project and construction team of the extension, dealing with energy efficiency, acoustics, the sustainability model and environmental certification according to the BREEAM protocol.

The theme of environmental sustainability was at the center of “Le cucine di Curno” in all phases of the project. The new extension was designed according to BREEAM international standards, adopting plant and architectural solutions aimed at guaranteeing both energy and water-sanitary needs, while guaranteeing reduced consumption and operating costs. The new food hall was also designed to be able to carry out effective maintenance and help promote the well-being of the occupants.

“We are happy to have participated in a retail project, among the first in Italy, where considerable resources have been invested, with great foresight, in the themes of environmental sustainability, social sustainability, through a news form of community and economic sustainability, with reduction of Total Cost Ownership (TCO).

The work that has seen us engaged in the months of the project is the result of a demanding research, a careful integration of new technologies with the architecture and a continuous and progressive optimization of the parameters that create the best balance between the efficiency of comfort and TCO efficiency”
